Dealership Worker
Important to know before considering a dealership job!
You must have really good experience with spreadsheets — It’s critical.
You MUST have a Full 100% Keyboard or Working Num Pad
The Dealership worker has several possible duties at the dealership.
Most people don’t realize just how much work goes into this job. It’s a lot and you have to:
- Have experience with spreadsheets.
- Be willing to learn new things that will help in the Real World.
- Support the customers.
Arguably, the most difficult thing is to balance your time between the warehouse and the shop. You can not treat your dealership as if it’s a self-serve business that doesn’t require human interactions!
Here are many of the job responsibilities of a dealership worker. The Owner position requires even more!
- Purchasing vehicles from the warehouse and documenting the purchase.
- Using Transport to get your vehicle(s) from the warehouse to the dealership.
- Completing the log process on the dealership sheet
- Placing a vehicle on the lot.
- Pricing a vehicle.
- Applying a discount.
- Placing a vehicle on hold.
- Setting up for a Test Drive.
- Selling a vehicle.
Purchase A Vehicle
This is a player-made video intended to support the dealership community of Limitless RP v3. It’s for dealership workers who are responsible for wholesale purchasing vehicles from the warehouse for the dealership. In this video we will show you:
- How to find and enter the vehicle warehouse.
- Identify and purchase a vehicle.
- Document your purchase.
Hire Transport
Use the Job App on the phone to contact Pegasus Transport. If needed, you could squawk out a request or call a known transport driver directly.
IMPORTANT:
It is your responsibility to hire transport. Even for one vehicle, you have to use transport. Their sole purpose is to transport vehicles from the warehouse to your dealership and they depend on each one of us for their income.
ONLY after you’ve spent at least 15 minutes attempting to reach transport using all means, and they simply aren’t available, are you are allowed to hire other people or drive the vehicle yourself.
Finish The Purchase
Three fields you need to fill in once you are back from the warehouse
- Your name as the person who purchased the vehicle
- The Lot Price
- The Final Selling Price
Place A Vehicle On The Lot
From the Management tool
- Select Display Vehicles
- Scroll through the list and find the one you want.
- Press Enter.
- The vehicle will appear to your right. Use keyboard numpad 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 to move and rotate the vehicle. Use B to place it on the ground. Use G to set it in place.
- On the spreadsheet, change the status of that vehicle to “Lot.”
Price A Vehicle
- Using the management tool, select Price a Vehicle.
- Depending on if you are pricing with the Lot Price, or a Discounted Price, type in the appropriate amount (numbers only) in the field displayed.
- Press Enter.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to walk up to the vehicle and check the price displayed. This will help find errors.
Learn from my experience and don’t set a $9,000 for $90,000. Your customer will have to put in a ticket to get the refund.
Applying A Patreon Discount
Every Patreon member gets a discount on a vehicle.
To determine what that discount should be and then applying it:
- Verify their current membership in Discord. Click on their profile and see their discount role.
- Enter that number in the Tax Discount field.
- The Loyalty Card field will automatically update. Type that new amount into the Final Selling Price.
- Type the name of the buyer in the Comments field.
Note: We do this so we can try to prevent multiple purchases of the same vehicle with a single discount card. - Reset the price on the actual vehicle to the discounted price before the buyer purchases it.
- Congratulate them on the purchase! 🙂
Place A Vehicle On Hold
Track a hold request start to finish on the Requests tab.
- Enter the name of the buyer, the vehicle model, their contact number, and your name on the Requests tab.
- Once the vehicle is purchased, enter it on the Inventory tab as usual, except in the status field, enter Hold. This will turn the entire line blue.
- Contact the buy. Fill in how you contacted them and change the status to Hold on the Requests sheet. This indicates that the vehicle is in inventory and you’ve contacted the buyer.
TIP: Send the buyer a text. It leave a record of your communication.
